A 27-year-old man died after being shot multiple times in Long Beach Tuesday night, authorities said.

Jesus Fernandez, of Long Beach, was determined dead at the scene by Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel, according to a release from the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Officers were dispatched to a shots heard call near the 1200 block of Loma Vista Drive in the city’s Willmore District at about 11:15PM on Tuesday, June 28, officials stated.

“Arriving officers found an individual, who sustained multiple gunshot injuries to the upper torso, lying on the street,” the release stated.

Authorities do not know the motive for the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
