A man is expected to survive after being found shot shortly before 9 a.m. in North Long Beach.

Officers were dispatched to a shooting at Atlantic Avenue and East 60th Street, a few blocks from the Michelle Obama Library, and found a man who had been shot in the upper body, according to police.

He was transported to a local hospital by paramedics, but few other details were immediately available. Police are still investigating what could have motivated the shooting and do not have a suspect description.
