A man was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Thursday morning after being shot in North Long Beach, authorities said.

Police were called to the 300 block of Marker Lane at 9:16AM on Thursday, April 7 regarding β€œan individual on the ground (possibly as a result of a shooting),” Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.

A man with a gunshot injury to his torso was eventually located by arriving officers.

Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening injury.

A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting happened near Butler Avenue and Artesia Boulevard, Arrona said.

Officials did not state whether the shooting was gang-related.

The investigation remains ongoing.
