A disagreement between two men in North Long Beach led to one man getting stabbed Friday night.

Police were called to the 5200 block of Cherry Avenue around 10:30 p.m. and found a man who had been stabbed with a knife in the upper torso. The suspect was still at the scene and taken into custody, Detective Jennifer Arzola said in an email.

“The preliminary investigation indicated a dispute had occurred between the victim and suspect, who are known to one another,” Arzola said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. The investigation is ongoing, she said.
