A man driving a pickup truck crashed into a police vehicle as officers were responding to an emergency call Friday night, authorities said.

At around 10 p.m., officers were traveling northbound on Santa Fe Avenue with the cruiser’s lights and sirens on while they approached the intersection at Willow Street

The truck was traveling westbound on Willow Street at a high rate of speed and struck the police vehicle in the intersection, Detective Jennifer Arzola said.

A passenger in the truck was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and limited information is available because the police report has not been completed, Arzola said.
