A man was stabbed near his truck in the Long Beach port complex Saturday night, according to Long Beach police.

At around 8:34 p.m., police found the man suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body at the 1200 block of Pier G Way, according to police. The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital, police said.

The man was near his truck when another man approached him and “initiated an altercation that escalated to a stabbing,” police said. The suspect then fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.

Police said it’s unclear what the suspect’s motive was in stabbing the victim. The investigation remains ongoing.
