A 27-year-old Long Beach woman was taken into custody Wednesday night after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during a domestic dispute, police said.

Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call at a Belmont Heights residence near Second Street and Ximeno Avenue around 10:30 p.m., authorities said.

Officers found a 37-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries to his lower body. The man said that his girlfriend stabbed him with a metal object because of an argument. The man refused medical treatment, according to police.

The suspected, identified as Karla Baeza, was arrested by LBPD officers and transported to the city’s jail on suspicion of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon. Baeza is being held on $50,000 bail, according to police.
