Man wounded in South Wrigley shooting, police say
Long Beach police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured Saturday night.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of Cedar Avenue in Long Beach’s South Wrigley neighborhood at 9:10 p.m., according to the LBPD. Strike marks from bullets and a blood trail were found at the scene, but no victim or suspect were located.
Police canvassed the area for video, conducted safety checks, searched for possible witnesses and notified local hospitals, according to the department.
Later in the night, a man took himself to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his upper body, police said.
No information was immediately available on a suspect or motive. The investigation is ongoing.
