The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has filed murder charges against two men suspected of shooting a man to death on a Long Beach sidewalk, authorities said Friday

One of the men, Travis Cockrell, was charged in the deadly shooting of 24-year-old Joshua Harris one week after Cockrell was arrested for a separate shooting, authorities said.

Long Beach resident Raymond Moreno, 34, was also charged with murder, being an ex-felon in possession of a gun and ammunition, and a gang enhancement for the Sept. 14 shooting of Harris.

Harris was found fatally shot on a sidewalk near Chestnut Avenue and Anaheim Street shortly before midnight on Sept. 14.

Officers then arrested Moreno on Sept. 26, police said. On Sept. 28, police arrested Cockrell for allegedly shooting at a group of men near West 15th Street and Daisy Avenue on Aug. 20.

“During their investigation, homicide detectives identified Moreno and Cockrell responsible for the murder of Joshua Harris,” police stated in a news release.

Police would not provide any details on a motive for the shooting.
