A 91-year-old Long Beach man died on Wednesday while riding his electric mobility scooter in Signal Hill, after being hit by a pickup truck, authorities confirmed Friday.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, Raymond Lopez died in an accident that occurred at 1:30PM Wednesday at Willow Street and Temple Avenue.

Lopez was transported to a hospital, where he died about six hours later, according to coroner’s assistant chief Ed Winter.

Authorities said Lopez was crossing Temple Avenue at eastbound Willow Street on his scooter, when a Ford F-250 pickup truck made a right turn, striking him. The motorist was not cited or arrested, according to officials.
