Long Beach police are asking for the public’s help identifying two subjects of interest who are wanted for questioning in connection with a nighttime assault that left a woman unconscious in a public space of her apartment complex.

On Monday March 3 at around 11:30PM, the 19-year-old woman, who has not been identified, was walking through her complex in the 2000 block of Beverly Plaza when she was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation, police said. A second man appeared and, without provocation, began hitting her until she sustained significant facial injuries and lost consciousness.

The victim’s cell phone was stolen during the assault.

Two suspicious-looking men were seen walking the grounds of the complex prior to the incident and police have released sketches of both to assist the public in finding them.

The second subject is possibly a male African-American, 20 to 22-year-old, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, approximately 195 pounds with a stocky build, and wearing all dark clothing.
