Long Beach police ended up tasing a man who was allegedly waving a gun around a neighborhood near the Traffic Circle at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Emergency officials got multiple calls from residents about the man, who was in the area of Wilton Street and Grand Avenue. When police officers got there, they quickly found the man, police spokeswoman Allison Gallagher said.

“Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation and the suspect was not compliant,” she said. They ended up deploying their “conducted electrical weapons,” commonly referred to as tasers, detained and arrested him.

Gallagher said they found a gun on the 3600 block of East 17th Street and police are still investigating.
