A man escaped without injury when his car was shot shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday in North Long Beach, police said.

The victim told police he had been sitting in his car near Forhan Street and Butler Avenue when he heard gunshots and his vehicle was hit by the gunfire, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

He drove to the intersection of Susana Road and Victoria Street about a mile away to call police, De Prez said. Officers later found broken glass they believe was from the man’s car in the 300 block of Forhan Street, police said.

No other victims have come forward and no injuries have been reported, De Prez said.

Police do not yet know the motive for the shooting or have a description of the suspect or suspects.
