Long Beach police say they’ve arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder weeks after someone overheard a shooting and reported it to authorities.

The shooting happened around 11 p.m. April 21 in North Alamitos Beach, police said. Someone overheard an argument followed by the gunfire inside a home in the 400 block of Almond Avenue, according to Long Beach police spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy.

Police couldn’t immediately find the gunman or anyone wounded, but they later discovered the shooting was part of a domestic dispute between a man and a woman, Dandoy said.

It turns out nobody was hurt, but police took 33-year-old Calvin Williams into custody on May 8, police said.

He’s being held in lieu of $2 million bail on suspicion of attempted murder and having an outstanding warrant.
