Police on Sunday night arrested a man in West Long Beach after a dispute between him and his roommate escalated into a deadly stabbing, police say.

When officers arrived at the residence in the 2100 block of Williams Street at approximately 8:40 p.m., they found a man in his 60s who had suffered several stab wounds to his upper body, according to the LBPD. The victim was declared dead at the scene by Long Beach Fire Department medics, according to police. Police have not identified the man, pending notification of his next of kin.

The suspect, 51-year-old Long Beach resident Eric Doore was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, police said. Doore’s bail was set at $2 million.

Police expect to present the details of the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration later this week, a department press release said.
