Long Beach police on Sunday night sent an alert to some Willmore residents, asking them to shelter in place while authorities investigated a suspicious package near Fire Station 3 on Daisy Avenue.

Residents in the 1200 block of Daisy Avenue were asked to stay inside their homes around 9 p.m. as the bomb squad inspected the package for potential explosive contents, police said.

Eventually, crews discovered the package did not contain any explosives. It was a wrapped brick, police said.
