Long Beach police are investigating a jewelry store robbery in the Bixby Knolls area on Wednesday afternoon, during which three men smashed glass cases, grabbed jewelry and fled, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

At least one of the three suspects who entered the store was seen with a gun, but no employees were reportedly injured, LBPD spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said.

Officers responded to the incident at the jewelry store on the 4300 block of Atlantic Avenue at about 2:45PM on Wednesday, July 8.

No additional details are available at this time and the investigation is ongoing, officials said.

This is the second reported jewelry store to have property stolen in Long Beach within a week. In the early hours of Friday, July 3, a jewelry store on Los Coyotes Diagonal was burglarized. It was closely followed by the burglary of a game store.

Anyone with information regarding Wednesday’s incident should contact the LBPD’s Robbery Detail at 562.570.7464.
