Three people were arrested and another nine were issued citations during a saturation patrol on Saturday night, police said Monday.

The Long Beach Police Department’s Traffic Section conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol from 7PM to 3AM, when they drove around the city searching for impaired drivers.

In total, the LBPD conducted 41 enforcement stops and conducted 11 standardized field sobriety tests, which resulted in the arrest of three people for DUIs. Three misdemeanor citations for unlicensed drivers were also issued, as well as six citations for unsafe driving.

Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
