Three separate shootings struck Long Beach Thursday within a few hours of each other and left four people injured, according to authorities who believe the incidents were gang-related but not linked to each other.

First Shooting

Officers responded to the first shooting on the 1000 block of East 10th Street at 5:50PM, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesman Sgt. Brad Johnson said.

Police arrived to find a man with gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso. He was transported by Long Beach paramedics to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he added.

Second Shooting

At 9:15PM, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Cerritos Avenue where they found two women with injuries.

One woman sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to lower torso and was transported to an area hospital by Long Beach paramedics, according to Johnson. The other woman suffered a superficial graze wound to her lower torso and was treated at the scene.

Third Shooting

Officers were called to the 700 block of East 8th Street at about 10:40PM where they located a man suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower torso, Johnson said. Long Beach paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital.

All three shootings are being investigated as possibly gang-related. However, authorities do not have any information at this time that connects the incidents to each other.
