Police said two men were in stable condition after being shot near Long Beach City College’s Pacific Coast Campus Saturday night.

Authorities got a call about shots fired around 7:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of 20th Street, which is just north of the campus at Pacific Coast Highway and Orange Avenue, Long Beach police Sgt. James Richardson said.

When officers arrived, they found a man who’d been shot in the upper body, according to Richardson. Paramedics took him to a hospital, police said.

Police discovered a second man had also been shot and taken by his friends to a home about a mile away in the 1600 block of Temple Avenue, Richardson said. Police headed to that home, and he was also taken to a hospital, Richardson said.

No details on any suspects were immediately available.

Police were still investigating but said the violence may be gang-related.
