A 49-year-old Long Beach woman allegedly assaulted a Long Beach police officer early Monday morning at East 4th Street and Obispo Avenue in Long Beach, according to police and neighborhood witnesses.

Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said police were dispatched to the area at 4:25AM Monday morning, on a gun call.

Christine Manzella was quickly booked for assault with a deadly weapon and resisting/obstructing a public officer, according to Arrona.

She is currently being held at Long Beach City Jail, with bail set at $50,000, Arrona said.
