A Rancho Cucamonga woman was arrested last night on suspicion of stabbing two people in North Long Beach, police said.

Lauren Ashley Stevens, 32, was booked on suspicion of one count of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and one count of assault with a deadly weapon, Long Beach Police Department spokesperson Richard Mejia said.

Police said the stabbing happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 5900 block of Long Beach Boulevard, which is just north of DeForest Park.

Police said Stevens was standing in front of a building alongside a man she knew and another woman when the three of them began arguing. The argument escalated, resulting in Stevens stabbing the man and woman, Mejia said.

Officers soon arrived at the scene where they found the man and woman with non-life-threatening wounds to the upper body, police said. Long Beach Fire Department medics responded and transported the victims to a nearby hospital.

Stevens’ bail was set at $50,000, police said.
