Long Beach police are investigating a Thursday night shooting that left a woman injured, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Chestnut Avenue on Thursday, August 27, at 11:54PM regarding reports of a shooting, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Megan Zabel said. 

Police learned that a woman on the street had been struck by gunfire, according to Zabel said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Officials do not know the motive for the shooting at this time. The incident is under investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time.
