Police are investigating a suspected incident of domestic violence after a woman was stabbed in West Long Beach on Saturday night, authorities said.

On Santa Fe Avenue near Cameron Street, police arrived at around 9:10 p.m. and found a woman with a cut to her upper body, authorities said. The man suspected of stabbing her left the scene before officers got there, according to Long Beach police.

The Long Beach Fire Department took the victim to a local hospital, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

Police find casings in separate shooting

Police also responded to a call about gunshots overnight on Market Street near Pacific Avenue in North Long Beach, authorities said.

Upon arriving at around 11:35 p.m., officers said they found bullet casings on the street. They were unable to find any victims, and no suspect information is available, according to police.

The reason for the shooting is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing, they said.
