UPDATE: Due to the weather forecast for this Friday, the food distribution event will be postponed until a later date, said Port of Long Beach spokesperson Lee Peterson in an email. He said the they will announce the postponement date soon.

PREVIOUSLY: Drive-thru food distribution event scheduled this week in West Long Beach

01/26/2021 at 1:45 p.m. | Local labor groups and a food bank are teaming up to host a drive-thru food distribution for those in need Friday morning in West Long Beach.

From 9 a.m. to noon, Labor Community Services, a local organization for unemployed or underemployed workers, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the Port of Long Beach will be giving out boxes of food at 1650 W. Ninth St. near the Pier B rail between Santa Fe and Canal avenues.

Recipients must wear masks, and organizers say that walk-ups are not allowed.
