The driver of a vehicle that led officials on a chase along Ocean Boulevard and First Street Wednesday night, resulting in damage to at least one parked car, evaded police and is currently at large, according to Long Beach police officials.

Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) Sgt. Bradley Johnson stated that at 11:30PM an officer observed two vehicles racing westbound on Ocean Boulevard at Cherry Street.

When the officer turned to investigate, the vehicles proceeded into a residential area off of Ocean to evade the officer, initiating an official police pursuit.

According to Johnson, the vehicle that was the target of the pursuit crashed into a parked car at 1st Street and Falcon Avenue before fleeing from officers.

According to witnesses on the scene Wednesday night, the vehicle was seen swerving and hit as many as three parked cars, which were damaged as a result.

Officers were unable to locate the driver and he remains at large. No arrests were made.
