AOC7 will be celebrating their sixth annual Book Drive and Literacy Fair, called Reading in the LB Sea, in MacArthur Park on May 12 by distributing donated books to children.

Fourth Annual Literacy Fair and Book Giveaway Set for Saturday at MacArthur Park

AOC7 (Anaheim, Orange, Cherry and 7th Street) is a neighborhood organization inspired to improve life within the community. Their goal is to reach 3,000 new and gently used children’s book. The last day to donate books to AOC7 is today. Community members can drop off books at the Neighborhood Resource Center, Patrick Henry Elementary, Mark Twain Library and other locations.

The organization is inviting three local elementary schools, Lincoln, Whittier and Roosevelt to the book drive with the help of their partner and sponsors Port of Long Beach, Rotary Club of Long Beach, Molina Foundation and more.

The books will also be donated to Neighborhood Resource Center, Patrick Henry Elementary, Mark Twain Library, The Center Long Beach, Roosevelt and Lincoln Elementary.

Reading in the LB Sea will be held from 10:00AM to 1:00PM. For more information on the event, visit AOC7’s Facebook page.
