Conoley

Cal State Long Beach (CSULB) President Jane Close Conoley will speak alongside several members of U.S. Congress and national health experts Thursday morning at the Annual Conference on Health Disparities, which will be held in Long Beach for the first time ever.

Conoley, along with former CSULB faculty member Britt Rios-Ellis, who was co-director of the CSULB department of health science graduate program, and director of the Center for Latino Community Health, will speak on how issues like race, poverty, low educational attainment, public safety, environmental quality and inadequate housing, are major contributors to health disparities.

The conference will be held at the Westin Long Beach, located at 333 E. Ocean Blvd., from November 5 to November 8. Registration for the event is now closed.
