The Long Beach Unified School District is hosting a digital forum about online learning this Saturday in an effort to give parents and students more tools and support during the pandemic.

The forum—which runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 5—is open to parents, students, LBUSD teachers and staff, as well as community members, who are interested in hearing about the district’s “efforts and progress related to virtual learning,” according to the district announcement.

The forum is also expected to include time for a Q&A, a chance for some parents and guardians to share their experiences, and ways to connect parents with resources for students.

The event is jointly sponsored by the LBUSD, the California Children’s Defense Fund, Latinos in Action, and Public Advocates.

Live translation into Spanish and Khmer will be available and can be requested as part of the registration process.

Registration is free and open to the public, but required beforehand for security reasons: click here to register. The district asked anyone interested to register by 4 p.m. Thursday.
