The family of a Los Alamitos man who was fatally shot in Long Beach on Saturday night is asking for donations to assist with funeral expenses.

Lawrence Lee Casados, 47, was fatally shot in an alleyway on the 2700 block of East South Street at about 10:53PM by an unknown suspect, police said.

A preliminary investigation found that Casados was socializing in the alleyway when a suspect approached him on foot and fired.

Lauren Casados, Lawrence’s daughter, said on a GoFundMe page that her father “found himself a victim of wrong timing and place and [was] ultimately brutally murdered.”

The family is seeking donations to help lay Lawrence to rest.

“Though it feels like time has stopped not only for our father, but for us too… we are pushing through the painful process of laying him to rest,” the GoFundMe page reads. “Those of you who have been through this, know how costly it can be.”
