Los Angeles County fire crews put out a fire at the Phillips 66 refinery in Carson, Thursday afternoon.
The fire started around 4:55 p.m at the 1520 E. Sepulveda Blvd. facility and, despite firefighters battling the blaze, continued to burn until after 5:45 p.m.
A dispatcher said the fire was burning at a small oil pump but didn’t have further information on the cause of the fire. The flames were out by about 6 p.m., the dispatcher said. No injuries were immediately reported.
Thursday’s fire is the second at the facility in less than two months. The first blaze was followed by a rise in gas prices for Southern California residents.
