Long Beach police will increase patrols at Jordan High School today after a threat against the campus was made on social media, authorities said.

Police were made aware of the threat Monday night and responded to the high school at around 10:22 p.m. Although investigators said they found no credible threats to the campus, officers will continue to have increased patrols at the school Tuesday as an added precaution, officials said.

“We will take any behavior that looks like a threat very seriously,” Jordan High School Principal Keisha Irving-Holder said in a statement this morning. “Students who make threats can face arrest, prosecution and even expulsion.”

The school will remain open and classes are expected to continue as normal. The investigation is ongoing.
