Long Beach beaches were closed for more than four hours Saturday afternoon, due to a storm cell that brought rain, humidity and lightning to the region over the weekend, Long Beach Fire Department officials said.

Authorities closed all beaches and waterways, as well as the Belmont Pier, at about 1:45PM on Saturday, July 18. The beaches opened up at about 6:00PM that day.

No injuries were reported in connection with the weather, according to officials.
