Authorities today identified a pedestrian who was struck by one or more vehicles and killed on the southbound 405 Freeway in the Westwood area.

The man was injured at about 10:15 p.m. Monday near Wilshire Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Scott Laughlin, 66, of Long Beach died at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported.

The circumstances of his death were under investigation.
