A man was injured after being stabbed at a park in North Long Beach Saturday night, Long Beach police said.

The man transported himself to a hospital and met with officers there at around midnight, reporting that he was stabbed at Ramona Park earlier that day, authorities said.

Police said that the victim was involved in an argument with two suspects at the park when the stabbing occurred. He suffered a non-life-threatening laceration to the upper body, police said.

Police said that preliminary information indicates that the victim and suspects know each other, but the motive for the incident is unknown. The victim was not cooperative and would not give further details of what happened, police added.

Officers said they visited the park, but were unable to find evidence of a crime scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
