If you have not had lunch or dinner at Tracht’s restaurant in Downtown Long Beach, you are missing out an incredible culinary experience.  Suzanne Tracht, one of LA’s top chefs, has opened the chop-house in the lobby of the Renaissance hotel on Ocean Blvd.

Mayor Bob Foster hosted a welcome reception for Suzanne Tracht at her restaurant on Monday night that was attended by Vice-Mayor Bonnie Lowenthal, Councilmembers Suja Lowenthal and Val Lerch, and members of the business and Downtown community.

It was a great party with great food that included crab deviled eggs, fried oysters and lamb tenderloin.  Chef Tracht has a national reputation and we are lucky to have her newest restaurant in our city.

S. Irene Virbila of the LA Times wrote in a restaurant review…

With her unerring instinct for what people want to eat now, she’s a natural. Her cooking is strong, yet graceful. Her plates look appealing (which isn’t all that easy when steaks and chops are your main ingredients), and though steakhouses from a new generation of chefs have opened right and left, Tracht’s version is still both classic and very personal, with enticing first courses and sides added to the mix.
