Train service will be disrupted on the Metro A Line tonight due to vandalized equipment between the Compton and Del Amo stations.

According to Metro, trains will not travel between the stations beginning at 9 p.m. and continuing for the rest of the night. Southbound trains will stop at the Compton Station and then turn back toward downtown Los Angeles, while northbound trains will stop at the Del Amo Station then return toward Long Beach.

It was unclear exactly what equipment had been vandalized or how.

Metro plans to operate bus shuttles between the affected stations on the A Line, which was formerly known as the Blue Line.

In recognition of Christmas Eve, all Metro bus and rails lines will be free beginning at 9 p.m. and continuing until 2 a.m.
