A collision involving two trucks that occurred around 3:00PM today in downtown Long Beach resulted in no injuries, but its impact knocked the tire off of a car and sent shards of glass from recyclable bottles across the street and onto the balcony of a neighboring apartment complex.

The crash took place at the intersection of 3rd Street and Magnolia when one truck hit another, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) Sgt. Bradley Johnson confirmed. Both drivers, one male and one female with two dogs, appeared unharmed shortly following the incident. They walked around with residents, exchanging information with police.

Johnson confirmed no one was transported to the hospital following the crash and no injuries were reported.

One police official said the neighbors of the closest apartment complex had banded together to sweep of the glass shards strewn across the sidewalk and balcony—what was left of bottles headed to the recycler, according to the female driver.

More details to come.
