A man died Saturday, two days after the driver of a car he was riding in crashed into parked vehicles in Long Beach Saturday, according to police. Authorities believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The man who died, Chap Choun, 41, was a Long Beach resident, according to police.

The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Orange Avenue and 20th Street, police said.

A 1999 Toyota Solara crashed into several parked vehicles and driver Chhoeup Khim, 51, of Long Beach was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. The accusation of vehicular manslaughter was later added.

Choun was also hurt, but his injuries were not believed life-threatening, police said.
