A pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle at Second Street and Pacific Coast Highway last night, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The crash occurred at 9:07 p.m. Sunday, said Long Beach police Lt. Steven Costa.

Long Beach Fire Department paramedics took the man to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition, Costa said.

The vehicle’s driver remained at the scene, he said. The busy intersection was closed for the beginning of the crash investigation.

Information on what caused the crash wasn’t immediately available.
