10:45am | Police are asking for help in locating the person or persons that apparently set fire to a cat last weekend and left it to die. Officers responded to a call in the 1100 block of Daisy Avenue around 11:15am on Sunday to find the cat’s fur still smoldering, transported it to a vet and the animal was humanely euthanized.

Community activist and pet-lover Justin Rudd announced yesterday that he is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for burning the cat.

Animal cruelty can result in fines and/or jail time, and anyone with information is asked to call Long Beach Police Department Violent Crimes Detective David Ternullo at (562) 570-7657. Tipsters can also submit information via text or email on the L.B.P.D. website, longbeach.gov/police, or directly to Tipsoft.
