Alamitos Beach Neighborhood Association (ABNA) President Milton Smith has endorsed Jeannine Pearce for Long Beach City Council, Pearce’s campaign announced yesterday.

The ABNA hosted a forum last month allowing residents to question the potential councilmembers. The association covers the largest area of any neighborhood association in the second district, between 4th Street and Ocean Boulevard.

“In observing Jeannine’s work on various committees and projects over the years, I will say that I don’t know anyone who works harder to reach a goal. Jeannine has an amazing ability to see a need, listen to people’s viewpoints, formulate a plan using all input, and then work to meet the need,” said Smith in a statement. “I hear people say all the time that the council needs members who listen, have common sense, and can bring people together to solve problems. That is what you will get with Jeannine.”

“I’m proud to earn Milton’s support because of all the great work he’s done serving our community,” said Pearce in a statement. “I know, that with the help of neighborhood leaders like Milton, together we can solve the problems residents deal with everyday, like parking, pollution, homelessness, and crime.”

Other prominent endorsements for Pearce include those of Congresswoman Janice Hahn, Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal, councilmembers Rex Richardson and Roberto Uranga, the Sierra Club and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor. Click here to see a full list of endorsements.
