unnamedLong Beach Mayor Robert Garcia is endorsing current Sixth District City Councilman and third term write-in candidate Dee Andrews, Andrews’ campaign announced today.

With his endorsement, Garcia joins former Long Beach mayors Beverly O’Neill and Bob Foster, Long Beach Unified School District President Felton Williams, the Long Beach Firefighter Association and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO.

“Dee Andrews had an incredibly strong record of activism and community involvement in the Sixth District,” said Garcia in a statement. “He has been on the frontlines of revitalizing neighborhoods, providing vital services, and helping young people succeed for decades. I urge you to join me, along with community leaders throughout the Sixth District, in supporting Dee Andrews’ write-in campaign.”

“I am incredibly honored to have the endorsement of Mayor Robert Garcia,” said Andrews in a statement. “The mayor and I have a shared passion for the residents of Long Beach and we have worked closely over the years to improve our great city. I will continue working with Mayor Garcia to repair our city streets and lower emergency response times to create a safer, stronger Long Beach for our residents.”
