Forecasters predict Long Beach and much of the rest of Southern California could get a half inch to an inch of rain between Tuesday and Thursday.

A “cold Pacific storm” will likely bring rain to coastal areas and snow to the mountains and foothills, the National Weather Service said. Most of the precipitation is expected to fall Tuesday night through Wednesday, according to the NWS.

In Long Beach, forecasters predicted a 40% chance of rain Tuesday night with a 60% chance Wednesday morning, and it’s possible the showers will last into Thursday, they said.

Temperatures were also expected to drop, with overnight lows in the 40s and daytime highs under 60 degrees on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
