Sunday’s Taste of the Coast at Belmont Veteran’s Memorial Pier was all the rage. With over 35 popular restaurants offering specialties, live music from the King Salmon Band and In Concert 1968, and bouncy houses and face painting for the little ones, the event benefiting Childen Today set a great stage for years to come.
Taste of the Coast is the brain child of Long Beach Kids Connection, led by president Bobbie Soupos. Long Beach Kids Connection is a local organization whose mission is to provide health, education, support and maintenance for children in need in the greater Long Beach Area . Event chair Donna Bennett and her talented committee decided to donate all proceeds to Children Today, another local non-profit that provides day care and preschool to families experiencing homelessness in Long Beach.
Organizers intend to host the event annually, as the need for serving impoverished and underserved children continues.
