Firefighters in Long Beach Sunday put out the second two-alarm blaze in two days inside a commercial building where drug equipment and chemicals were discovered a day earlier.

The latest fire was reported around 10 p.m. in the 3300 block of East 59th Street, fire officials said.

Investigators were still trying to determine the cause and origin of the latest fire, officials said.

When the first blaze Saturday was out, firefighters discovered drug equipment and chemicals in the building and called for a hazardous materials response, officials said. They were also trying to determine if an explosion started that earlier blaze.

Police said they suspected someone was using the warehouse to extract marijuana hash oil with butane, according to KTLA.

One man in his 30s was taken to a trauma center with burns to 40% of his body after being hurt in the first fire, authorities said.
