Long Beach Preschool Enhances Business Practices, Earning Owner Rising Star Award

One Year ago, Kidworks Children’s Center owner Dinuka Ranasinghe found herself at a crossroads: how could she provide the quality preschool and daycare environment desired for the business she’d owned since 2008, while also ensuring affordability for every parent and child her little school served? A phone call to Long Beach City  College’s Small Business Development Center laid the groundwork for putting her business back on track, culminating in her recognition last week with the Sean Lumachi Rising Star Award, presented at the Long Beach Chamber’s annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards and Luncheon. 

Belmont Shore’s Olympix Fitness Aims to Attract Long Beachers Looking for a Workout with a View

Spinning, rooftop yoga, Crossfit and workouts with a view will all be afforded to members of the new Olympix Fitness, a 25,000 square foot new fitness facility located adjacent to Chuck’s Coffee Shop on the Belmont Shore stretch Ocean Boulevard. The gym, developed by the same people who created Berlin Bistro and the Temple Lofts, is slated to open in late summer 2016.
