SWAT officers were were dispatched to the area of Elm Avenue and Seventh Street Wednesday afternoon following reports that a suspect in a gun-related crime two weeks earlier had returned to a nearby apartment building, authorities said.

Police said the suspect is being sought after pointing a gun at a man during a dispute in the 400 block of East Seventh Street on July 13.

Today, authorities discovered that the suspect had returned to the area and officers once again responded to the 400 block of East Seventh Street around 1:19 p.m., the LBPD said.

In response, officers set up a perimeter around the area and called in SWAT officers. They blocked off an area on Elm Avenue from Sixth to Seventh streets as a helicopter and K9 units also responded to the scene, but the suspect had already fled the area.

No arrests were made and by 3:30 p.m. officers began clearing the area. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
