Just over 600 vehicles made their way through the checkpoint in the area of 7th Street and Locust Avenue from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. with police screening almost half of all drivers, LBPD said.
The checkpoint took place on Atlantic Avenue and South Street, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Friday.
At the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Daisy Avenue between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, more than 824 vehicles drove through the checkpoint, and 243 drivers were screened, police said.
