8:31am | Two men have been arrested for the murder of 28-year old Compton resident Julio Hernandez after his shooting early Saturday morning set off a hunt for the killers. On Wednesday, detectives obtained warrants for 30-year old Juan Francisco Moreno of San Pedro and 34-year old Paul James Moore of Long Beach and brought them into custody.

Police say that the two men were allowed inside a residence in the 1300 block of Raymond Avenue by Hernandez, when a verbal dispute occurred and one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Both suspects then fled. Officers responded around 5:30am on Saturday after a report that a man had been shot inside a residence.

Paramedics transported Hernandez to a local hospital, where he died several hours later. It is unclear how many times he was struck.

Moreno and Moore are in custody and will be charged with murder, police say. An exact motive for the shooting is unknown, but they believe it to be gang-related.
